Active text in emails/sms

by Hank on January 16, 2010 0 Comments

Touch and hold text in emails and sms. If it has a phone number it will dial it. if it is an address, it will open up maps. You can also just copy and paste it. Pretty simple, but often overlooked.

Google Analytics

by Hank on January 9, 2010 0 Comments

For those of you that use google analytics, this is a great little app that allows you to check it on the go. They have a free trial for it in the market under the name "droid analytics". If you want mobile access to analytics, this is worth a purchase. If you can wait until your in front of your PC, then this is prob nothing more than a want than a need.

Swype Keyboard for Droid

by Hank on December 30, 2009 0 Comments

Want a better keyboard solution for your Droid ? Swype could be it. You simply swype your finger across the keyboard, stopping at the letter you want, then slide over to the next letter and so on. You finger never leaving the keyboard. The keyboard knows where you stopped and displays the word. If it doesnt really know, it will show you a list of words that it thinks u might have wanted to type. Pretty cool app and a must for those with larger fingers who have issues with the onscreen keyboard.

It is in beta and this is pretty much a hack release. But the guys at mobilecrunch as well as myself have confirmed that it does work on the Droid.

Dilldroid

by Hank on December 28, 2009 0 Comments

Sorry I have been busy over the holidays and haven't posted in a few days. But based on how my holidays are going, I am really just thinking about giving this to my wife and having her go at it all by herself. Lean doesn't even begin to describe it... So if you feel like I do or if your a female who wants to really multi-task with your phone, search the market for "dilldroid" and have at it....

Missed call android app

by Hank on December 17, 2009 0 Comments

Missed call lets you customize the LED, vibrate or sound notifications for missed calls, SMS, bluetooth, incoming calls and calendar events. It is a pretty cool app if you like to be notified of things other than your incoming email. Just go to the market and search for "missed call"

Droid App Handcent

by Hank on December 16, 2009 0 Comments

Great for handsfree text messaging. Install the handcent app from the market. Bring up the contact you want to text. Click menu and then speak. Talk into the mic what you want to say and it transcribes it into the text message. At this point you might as well just dial your friend instead of going through all this trouble. Afterall, look at where all this text messaging got Tiger.....  But a cool app nonetheless.

Apps Organizer - MUST HAVE

by Hank on December 13, 2009 0 Comments

Organize your Android apps in categories. This app saves space on your home screens. if your like me and have 30+ apps installed, this app is a game changer. Make a home screen icon called multimedia. Put all of your multimedia apps in there, youtube, music player, pandora, etc. All under one icon. Allow, 2 cick access to just about every app you have instead of having to scroll through all your apps. Saves a ton of time. Watch the youtube video below to see how easy it is, then go to the market and search for "App Organizer". You'll be glad you did.
